Bliss News! - Chat with Leah Fung tonight!

Hi Everybody!

I am so excited to announce that Leah Fung will be joining us at Scrapper's Bliss (www.scrappersbliss.com) tonight at 6:00pm PST (8:00pm CST and 9:00pm EST).

Leah is a Contributing Editor for Better Homes and Gardens and Scrapbooks etc. She's also a Designer for Chatterbox and for Scrapbook Lifestyle, which is a daily internet TV show in partnership with Better Homes and Gardens. She is also a 2005 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame winner and a 2005 Paperkuts Power Team winner. Despite all her achievements, Leah remains humble and never fails to express how thankful she is for having these opportunities. During the day Leah is a Medicinal Chemist who is currently researching new treatments for diabetes. She currently resides in Southern California with her husband and her two boys, Alex and Drew. Also, while you are there check out the "So You Think You Can Scrap" contest! It is going to be a ton of fun (and easy to enter the initial auditions!).  The contest will loosely replicate the show with the resulting winner earning a 6 month spot on the DT and an awesome prize package! The runner-up will receive a Guest Design Team spot for one month and a prize pack and the 3rd and 4th place winners will both receive prize packs! Also, you just never know when we might have a trick up our sleeves! - If you decide not to enter stick around and help us vote!

The Good Stuff!

Well, it has been a while since I "blogged". (yes, again).

Since my last entry:

Brody has gotten two teeth and is cruising the furniture, causing mass chaos and destruction, but boy is he cute! Boys are definately different from girls. He is (usually) so much calmer and has a good nature about him although lately he is getting mischevious! That is my cutie (to the left!) It is hard to believe that he will be ONE in August.. I will miss that sweet baby smell! But welcome deleting my monthly formula expense and the rest of the icky baby stuff and enjoy the toddler-to-be!

Hannah is about to loose her top front toot! I imagine she will look like a jack-o-latern when it falls out.

Holly is living it up with the Dancing Princesses and having a LOT of tea parties (try about 8-10 a day)!

Hailey keeps growing and growing!

I turned 33 on June 10th... ugh, let's face it, I am getting old! I now know why I thought my Mom was so unfashionable at that age! She was tired and spent all her money on clothes for my brother and I instead of buying stuff for herself! As I look in the mirror, I am starting to see my Mom,  scary! (not that I don't love my Mom, because I do, she is the most kind, compassionate, selfless Mom I know, but I still never imagined I would become my Mom!).  Must be time for a new haircut, color and a spiffy new outfit! (always makes a girl feel shiny and new!) I will report back once this "transformation" is complete (but don't hold your breath!)

Awesome news! I entered the Scrappin Idol contest at Scrapbook Lifestyles hosted by fellow Bliss Girl Wendy Reed and made it to the second round! Here is my "winning" (so to speak) layout: (look to the left!) I am now working on the second challenge which is to use 4 or more photos on a page! Wish me luck! (and don't forget to go vote!)

And in Bliss World:

I opened my front door to find the UPS guy holding a box of KI Memories goodies for the Manufacturer Challenge this month! Wow! (that is all I can say!) What an awesome box of goodies! If you like/want the Love, Elsie embellishments you will want to enter a layout in this contest! But don't dilly dally around because the deadline for entry is June 25th!

BIG things are going on at Scrapper's Bliss:

First of all, I am sooooo happy to announce that:

Elsie Flannigan will be joining us for a chat on June 7th at 10:00CST (that is 11:00am EST and 8:00am PST for those of you who are time zone challenged!).

This is such wonderful timing with the recent release of her awesome new goodies! (have you SEEN them? they are marvelous and I must get my hands on every last piece of paper, button, rub on, sticker and mini album! - WOW).  Here is some more info on Elsie:

Elsie Flanningan is the author of "52 Scrapbooking Challenges" and the designer for Love, Elsie, which is a trademark of KI Memories. Elsie is an alumni garden girl for Two Peas in a Bucket, a contributing writer for Creating Keepsakes magazine, a columnist for Scrap! magazine and an international scrapbooking teacher. Her signature style and out of the box ideas keep thing fresh every day! In her free time she likes to eat sushi with friends and play with her pug, Cocoa. She resides in Springfield, MO and spends most of her days in her very messy home studio.

and, BIG thing #2:

The So You Think You Can Scrap Contest at Scrapper's Bliss!

Here's the skinny:

1. Go to Scrapper's Bliss (if you haven't already) and register for the Message Board and the Gallery (these are seperate logins)

2. Sign up by emailing Trish Harwick at [email protected] with the following information:

Name

Bliss Member Name

Email Address

3. Start by submitting 2 layouts and 1 altered item/project to the Gallery in the "So You Think You Can Scrap" Gallery section and then linking to the designated thread on the Message Board. These layouts and projects can be any style, size or theme and can use any products available to you! - They should demonstrate your ability to scrap different styles and adaptability!

4. The Scrapper's Bliss Design Team will then choose 2 groups of 10 contestants each to enter the next round. (Think of this as the auditions you see on the show) - If you make it to this round you will need to submit a photograph of yourself along with a short bio!

5. A scrapper from each group will be voted off each week. Each week (for a total of 6 weeks) the advancing scrappers will receive a "style" to scrap. The challenges will be posted anonymously for  the public, along with the Scrapper's Bliss Design Team, (the vote will be 50% DT and 50% public) to get a chance to vote for their favorites! 

6. The final two scrappers will have a SCRAP OFF to determine the winner. This will consist of 2 projects scrapped in assigned style (s).

The  Grand Prize winner will receive:

6 month DT position at Scrapper's Bliss plus $150.00 Bliss Prize Pack

First Place winner will receive:

Guest DT spot for one month plus a $100.00 Bliss Prize Pack

Second Place winner will receive:

$75.00 Bliss Prize Pack

Third Place winner will receive:

$50.00 Bliss Prize Pack
